Ascent Trip ReportClimbed the mountain after gaining permission from the next door neighbor of the owner of the property. The owner is still Bob Gilvary, but the number listed on a previous TR is incorrect. Mr. Gilvary was in Florida the day I climbed the mountain and the neighbor did not have his phone number. The neighbor was clear, no ATVs. Alas, on the climb, there was a sign board that stated that as well. I parked next to the gate, because the state has plastered no parking signs on the highway because of a school bus turnaround.
The climb is very simple! Start past the rusted gate along the creek. Quickly go away from the creek while staying on the forest wood road. The climb is moderate the whole way. Eventually, you'll reach the famous bread truck and turn to the left almost immediately, on a smaller but still evident, woods road. After a short steep section, it levels off for about a mile. Then it comes to a dead end but continue on about 50 yards. The marker will be on your left among laurel and surrounded by three rocks.
Might be a view a little lower and to the west.
