Ascent Trip Report

Winter hike of Cannon and the Cannon Balls with Dave P. Up Hi-Cannon Trail, across the ridge, and down Fishin' Jimmy trail. Only used microspikes/hillsounds the whole time (I barebooted down from the hut to the base). A bit tricky getting up the ladder on Hi-Cannon and VERY tricky coming down the steepest part off of Cannon. Had to grab onto trees, lower down until your foot reached another one (or not even reached, but slid between). Slick snow and some ice bulges. Encountered one other group on the ridge and on the decent. Really fun using sleds down the upper part of the Cannon descent (before the really steep part), down the Fishin' Jimmy, and especially down the Lonesome Lake Trail.
