Ascent Trip ReportMy daughter and I chose THE perfect day to ascend Monroe and Washington in the White Mountains. It was a completely cloudless day, not overly cold (it was about zero at the outset but until we got to the top of Washington it felt pretty warm for mid February). There were no clouds, the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail was packed snow to Lake of the clouds hut and then mostly ice between the summits. Crampons most of the say except the very beginning where we started with microspikes.
