Ascent Trip ReportOn this snowy day, I decided that it was time to finally pay a visit to Loma Prieta. I parked on the large turnout on Loma Pietra way. I crossed a pickup truck on the way up and later 2 guys. There summit was covered with one inch of snow. The sky was cloudy but the view nice. The ice falling from antenna structures was making an impressive sound. On the way down, I found the two guys trying to snowboard down. On the dirt road junction, two trucks and a motocross were stopped and chatting together. I passed them and few minutes afters one of the trucks reached me and started to talk. he was a ranger from Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve. He kindly explained me that access to this area was prohibited and let me get back to my car without trouble. |
