Ascent Trip Report

Followed the GPS through the snow. We were first at the gate and the long flat entrance beyond the gate was thick with snow that had not blown away. From on inch to a foot of postholing. The roads and trails were slippery with ice and snow - we should have worn micro spikes. Karen had tennis shoes and low socks so her feet were wet and cold by the end. I had high top boots and was fine. The views of the nearby CHP had more vista but there was more relief here than I had planned. I thought this would be the "easiest" of all SHPs but not really. Hoosier in IN and DE and FL are much easier as this one has a 2.5 mile round trip hike some gain and in the winter some tedious snow walking. But thankfully a nice land owner granting access a few times a year. By the time we got back, there were about 7 cars parked out at the gate. We were apparently the first up and blazed the way through the snow.

One note our track up was confused by snow mobiles on the way up but on the way down we took the correct track
