Ascent Trip ReportWe took the cable car. Didn’t want to trek 2 days through the jungle and forest to a tourist trap.
And tourist trap it was! Sun Legend has totally ruined what was once probably a nice peak. But, we bagged an ultra and Vietnam’s high point. In spite of the crowds, it was clean and all the temples were nice. Overall, it was better than we expected but our trek from Sapa tomorrow will likely be more the type of hiking adventure we were looking for. You can touch the highest natural rock, so peak bagged! It was also nice that you can walk the final few hundred feet of gain, though a funicular is there for the elderly but sees more use by the lazy... |
