Ascent Trip ReportThere's a Forestry Commission car park to the north west of the hill where I parked.
From this point take the forestry road past the gate and nearby sign board. The map shows a junction of forest roads in 300-400m. In fact it is more a wide fire break. Nonetheless turn right on go up the strong path. Beware of mountain bikers.
After 500m another forest road is met. Turn left and follow the "red route" all the way to the top. The summit was once covered in trees. These are now felled so you are left with a bit of a scene of devastation. But there are now views. The south is rather blocked by higher hills (Dun Rig and Dollar Law). But to the north Peebles lies at your feet and the Pentland Hills up by Edinburgh are in view.
