Ascent Trip ReportEasy open field walk … .8 miles, 20 minutes RT.
My source of information was from Ken Oeser TR of 2006, my approach however was from the east side as noted below.
From the south side of the city of Danville, at JCT Hwy 127/150, Rose and I drove south on 127 for 5.8 miles to a right turn on CR2141, .9 miles south on CR2141 turned right onto Harris Creek Road, 3.1 miles west is MB #1593 on the right - the driveway climbs steeply northwest 100+yds to the house (37.52657,-84.86015). I am not sure if this is the same house referred-to in Ken's TR, my hiking route however is one of the same.
Harris Creek Road comes to a crest 300 yds before this MB#1593 as it goes over Gibson Knob (with its high ground 40 yds north of the road).
There was no answer at the house door, Rose stayed back to deal with the consequences (none to be had). From the house I walked north on a track in the open field 300 yds to a small knoll, then east another 350 yds to the summit (dropping to a small sag on route).
