Ascent Trip Report

Today’s trip included Franklin, Kearney, Phelps, Gosper, Frontier, Red Willow, Furnas, and Harlan counties -- all Nebraska.

This was just a delight as today was an excuse to tool around with my dad and share some great father-son time.

Lots of history lessons in the pickup as he learned about this new hobby, especially my home county.

The first half of the .5-mile approach is through cornfield, then it is untilled pasture. A barbed-wire fence separates the two, with an obvious gate. Thankfully a good dose of snow cover still blanketed the bare field, which meant I could avoid mud in the climbing temperatures.
