Ascent Trip ReportMotorcycle from the east to Henry's Fork trailhead. Good road, though quite a ways to gas. Started up trail about 4 pm, light overnight pack, pleasant hike, no elevation gain to speak of, made camp about 6:30 in the basin near the Gunsight Pass/Henry's Fork Lake trail junction. Utterly gorgeous, zillions of wildflowers, no bugs, quite a few people (this was going into a July 4th long weekend). Started up about 5:00 the next morning, perfect weather, clear obvious easy trail, no snow at all. Met a yearling bighorn on the way, no people. Leisurely hike, lots of photography, summit at 08:40. Decided to descend on a course about N 70 E from the summit, which was a pleasant boulder hop and pushed the overall difficulty into the Class 2 range. Thereafter, saw many people on the trail (dozens). Back to camp by noon, back to trailhead by 3:00. Camped at the trailhead and the next morning continued due west to the highway (UT 150); nice scenic drive.
