Ascent Trip ReportUsing the fantastic driving route described by Tom Layton and his GPS track I was able to head right to this one with no questions. Rather than rehash it, just check out his report for the same driving directions I used here. I made it to the base of the peak where the old tower drive turns off around 9am. Parked here and trekked up to the posted coordinates in just a couple minutes. The original four concrete anchors of the old lookout are at the posted coordinates for this peak. The man-made push pile of rocks and concrete debris mentioned in other trip reports is immediately north of the posted coordinates. Nice morning to be out wheeling around on the national forest. Ran into a few hunters driving around but no one at the peak. From here, I headed on to Bear Knob about 5 miles to the west...
