Ascent Trip ReportShowed up around 4:30, as it was getting dark out. The Portsmouth Fire and Water District office was technically closed but several employees were still inside working. Seeing rather negative signage to proceeding on foot, I got their attention through the window and received permission to proceed. Agree that high ground is at or near the fence line at the back of the property by the water towers, and you don't need to hop any fences into adjacent backyards, but it's hard to tell what's natural up here. That said, it only took a few minutes of wandering to leave me satisfied I'd covered highest ground.
My dad and I celebrated our completion of the RI county prominence peaks with a bit of gas station food from the Cumberland Farms down the road, and a nice 4-hour drive back to Connecticut through the snowstorm that rolled in less than an hour later. Fun times...
