Ascent Trip Report This was a solo hike of this Peakbagger peak in the Lake Havasu area. I followed Steve Eskenazi hiking guide for this peak. This is an excellent guide for the Lake Havasu area available in the visitor center. The drive in was the most interesting. I entered at Paso de Oro Drive. There are a lot of various side roads, but stay in the main road. It is 5 miles in to the parking spot. You don’t need 4WD, a good high clearance vehicle will have no problems. Good tire also is a must. The road is mostly sharp rock.
The hike in is basically a road walk up to the radio towers. The last ½ mile is a trail along a ridge to the summit. On the summit, there was a register, a pole and I found a directional BM but not the benchmark.
I returned the same. On the drive out I forgot that I had dropped into a wash. I missed the road going out, but fortunately figure it out quickly and turned around.
