Ascent Trip ReportDriving through Kansas on way to Denver, stopped to get a couple of easy County HP's. This was fairly quick, got off at the Collyer exit, and you pass two large cemeteries even before you get to the town. The cemeteries looked way more occupied than the town did, by the way.Went straight on old Highway 40 which quickly turns to dirt. Went straight at the fork onto 8th across a level crossing (look both ways, twice, the trains are huge out here). Made a right when the road ended and then a left on Golden Belt road. Then, made a left on what Waze claimed was '82' but to my eyes was a driveway. I headed south toward the high point and realized that it would have been easier to just keep on old Route 40 out of Collyer. The HP is accessable from another drivewayish road on the left. I actually parked just off the road '82', as I wasn't comfortable driving it. I walked it and it was actually fine to drive, just probably tough to turn around without getting into the crop. I returned to the car, kept going south across another level crossing, passed the farmers house (no activity that I saw) and checked out the northern of the two alternate candidates. This was 'ignore by inspection' just no high point at all, probably plowed into conformity with the rest of the field. The second, southern candidate is probably easier to get from I70. There MIGHT be a slight rise in the field, so I walked out to it, but it has been plowed to oblivion as well. My guess is the northern one is correct, but Lidar is probably needed to confirm.
