Ascent Trip ReportThis ascent was part of my South Brace Mountain, Brace Mountain, NY-MA-CT Triple Point, CT State High Point, and Mt. Frissell climb along the South Taconic Trail starting at the Quarry Hill Road trailhead. The weather was cool, overcast with low cloud cover at higher altitude, rainy, and leaf-covered for most of the hike. Of particular note that I don't believe is documented well enough in other trip reports is that the trail becomes significantly obscured at places and very slick with Autumn leaf cover particularly in the rain. Wet rock and loose earth, especially during the first part of the ascent can be particularly difficult and challenging.
NOTE: The trail ascending the steepest part of the hike, toward the closest and highest part of the unnamed waterfall is particularly steep and hard to follow. Be very careful here as the fall risk increases greatly and route finding becomes more difficult.
