Ascent Trip ReportHeaded out to this one with Ken and Karen Jones, having gained permission the day prior from the Ute Tribal Office. We decided to try Google's navigation, starting from the intersection of 191 and 88, East of Fort Duchesne. We passed through Ouray, and set the odometer to zero as we crossed the bridge over the Green River. The road was paved (Seep Ridge Rd) until turning right on Buck Canyon Rd, which is a nicely graded road. Smooth driving until the last couple miles at the top, where recent snow made for some muddy ruts. Odometer reading was 76 miles near the peak, and it took about 2.5 hours to get there. After a quick visit to the flat peak, we headed back. I would have liked to keep going to the South for some better views, but the road conditions were poor.
