Ascent Trip ReportMy First USA State County HP List Finish!
I started working on this list last week and finished in a week. Route: From the corner of New City Road and Burley Hill Road, park and find a red trail marker leading to a use trail that parallels New City Road. Follow the path to a forest road that leads to a meadow. The meadow was recently hayed. Go to the SE corner of the first meadow, cross into the second meadow (also hayed), and go to the SE corner again.
From here, move into some bushwhacking and find the summit block. It actually is a nice block of stone, about 15 feet high. The northern portion of the summit block is the easier ascent, but we wanted to do a nice low CL2 move among some wonderful purple-black liverworts.
A nice hike and list finish on this beautiful fall day!
