Ascent Trip Report

After climbing Gibbs Mountain and taking a lunch break along the trail between the two we headed north until we found the unmarked trail up the south ridge of Celo where it leaves the Black Mountain Crest Trail. This was not hard to follow though there were a couple of spots where careful scrambles are required. There's a beautiful view from a rock outcrop along the way. The top of Celo is currently well marked with a wooden sign hanging on a nearby tree (perhaps placed by the same hand as the one atop Gibbs?). The benchmark was not hard to spot and we cleared a bit of debris from it to make it even more obvious. From here we retraced our steps to the Wood Ridge Trail junction and back down that trail to our car.
