Ascent Trip Report

The bridge from Quebec City goes up a hill and turns into Route Prevost at a traffic light. I went up on this road to the top of the big hill, past the motel on the left, and then down to the corner of Prevost and Route 368. Just NW from there, a dirt road led NE into a field, and after a short ways a left turn to the NW took me back up to the crest of the hill--I was able to park practically at the high point. This dirt road had a fallen-down rope I drove over, but no residences nearby and no one around.

I paced around the crest of the hill for a bit from my car--the field was fallow on this drizzly Friday at 1 PM, and I could easily walk across the dirt furrows. It's mostly flat and no single spot is clearly highest. A large boulder pile nearby is likely man-made but still makes a nice candidate. There is another boulder pile just inside the forest to the north of the road. Views to the south are best, since you can see the river.

If the dirt road is gated or there is active farming, one could probably park at the motel and ask permission to bushwhack briefly to the field.
