Ascent Trip ReportLed for the Mountaineers. Beautiful day although chilly in the morning. Slightly overcast. Very straightforward and mellow this time of the year. We did a lollipop loop and tagged Navaho Peak for our second peak. Stayed on the Stafford Creek trail till about 4800' where we left it heading east towards the Freedom/Navaho saddle. From the saddle go straight up 400' to Freedom's peak. There was a trace of snow and a few bits of ice at 10:30am in the morning, but not a problem to avoid. Beautiful 360 degree views. Retraced steps back to the saddle and then headed in opposite direction for Navaho. Followed bootpath all the way up. Stunning views of larch and Stuart range. From Navaho, dropped down to Navaho Pass via good bootpath that connects back to the Stafford Creek Tail. Easy hike back to the trailhead. Lots of color on the trail too.
