Ascent of Red Mountain on 2018-09-28
|Date:||Friday, September 28, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3635 ft / 1107 m|
Ascent Trip ReportForest Road 22N04 descends a few miles from the saddle beneath Buck Ridge, then gets rocky and climbs up to another saddle beneath the top of Red Mountain, where it is gated. New comm towers, a generator, and some seismic study equipment on top, plus what looks like a newly constructed, not yet finished hut. Looked for the benchmark but it was gone, though one reference mark remained. Good but hazy views of the valley.
