Ascent Trip ReportThis was a wonderful day of hiking! The weather was perfect, cool and no bugs. No rain and the mud wasn't too bad. Hired Marj Wallace to take Tina Strubel, George See, Ben Franco and me to tackle 4/5 of the Dix Range. I had done Dix a few weeks prior but it was all socked in. Not today! We had clouds and blue skies and gorgeous views all day. Ben and I hiked ahead often since our pace was faster, and Tina didn't do Hough since she was tired and didn't need that mountain since she is already a 46er. George usually hikes by himself so this was his first group, and first guided experience. He really enjoyed it and will do more groups in the future! He also did great with his pace doing a bit faster than he would usually do alone, but it pushed him a bit in a good way. Our pace made speedy Ben slow down which is good for the knee that had been troubling him. It held up really well. He was impatient at times, but in hindsight really enjoyed the experience of being with people, taking pictures, and enjoying the experience instead of rushing through a physical challenge. Me, I just loved having some of my best friends along on a gorgeous day and getting to #44!! It was my first Slide as well!
