Ascent Trip ReportI started my hike at the Seward Mt. trailhead near Coreys. I hiked the 1.2 miles until the first trail intersection (after the horse trail). I made the right here towards Calkins Brook. I hiked this trail until I found the cairn signifying the Calkins Brook herd path. I made a left here and proceeded to take this trail all the way to the top of the ridge - the cul just below Donaldson Mt. I then made the 'right' towards Donaldson. I summited Donaldson and kept going, taking the herd path towards Mt. Emmons. I summited Emmons where there was a dead end in the herd path, so I turned around, taking the herd path back towards Donaldson. Summited Donaldson again, taking in the views, before I proceeded to head towards Seward. I passed the Calkins Brook herd path cairn and descended into the cul below Seward. After another elevation gain and cul, I ascended steeply on the herd path to the summit of Seward. The original plan was to take Calkins Brook herd path back to the trailhead, but I decided to skip the elevation gain and descend down the steep Wards Brook herd path until it met up with the official trail again. I made a left at that trail, and hiked the long 5 miles all the way back to the Seward trailhead.
