Ascent Trip ReportI was back on the East Coast for a friend's wedding, and I decided to make a detour to Mount Davis on my way from Pittsburgh to Frederick. Instead of driving directly to the top, I went up the Highpoint Trail to make it feel like I accomplished something, even if the roundtrip was under two miles. The trail was a bit muddy from recent rains. At the summit, the USGS marker is interestingly perched on the corner of an unnatural-looking boulder. I climbed to the top of the summit tower and enjoyed the views of the rolling hills -- much different than what I'm accustomed to in the Sierra. Later, I learned that I was here with my family when I was eleven years old.
