Ascent Trip ReportBeth and I followed Interstate-95 south toward Richmond, and exited at the Ladysmith exit, west to the small town of Chilesburg along local country roads. In Chilesburg we found even more "localer" roads, working our way to Goose Hill Road. The highpoint is a moderate-sized region (maybe 10 acres) at or above 350 feet, with Goose Hill Road extending into a part of this region.
We drove to the road's apex, and that put us inside the contour. The fields were mature corn, and the woods surrounding the fields were thick in their summer glory. We decided to call this one good after walking around the area for a few minutes. I could only get so far into the brush.
As we drove back into Chilesburg, we discovered our rental car was leaking water into the passenger footwell. We stopped at the general store to get tape to stanch the leak, with no luck. It didn't affect our driving, but Beth wasn't too happy because it got her feets wet.
