Ascent Trip ReportTrip started and ended at the Tearbritches trailhead parking area. On March 26, we started hiking through a cloud over Bald Mtn and down to the Conasauga River. We crossed the river and continued along Hickory Creek trail for about 4 miles, camping near the northern end of that trail next to the creek. Saturday the 27th started with the one remaining mile of HCT, followed by a 5 mile, 2000-foot vertical climb along East Cowpen Trail, followed by a 3 mile descent along Panther Creek Trail back to the Conasauga River. The 'climb' logged here took place March 28, from Bray Field campsite back over Bald Mountain to our car. The trip total was about 21 miles, with over a mile of vertical relief.
