Ascent Trip ReportThe hardest thing about this hike is the miles of forest/service roads you have to drive just to get to the trailhead. The hike itself is just a little over a mile and the peak appears to be within 50 feet of the trail. Many of the trails in this area are posted as CLOSED because of the fire a year or more ago...but Tearbritches is not closed. After finishing this hike I drove another 7 miles on service roads to the Cowpen Trailhead near Three Forks Mountain and hiked/bushwhacked Cowpen Mountain. It's worth doing both of these hikes on the same trip.
