Ascent Trip ReportAfter a work trip out to Ann Arbor I picked up my car and started my way down to Backbone. (I had recently moved from Ann Arbor to the East Coast and left the car, knowing I'd be back soon to pick it up.)
I arrived at the Backbone Mountain Trailhead (39.245505, -79.491797) around 8pm with light rain and some thick fog. It took about 45 min to make my way up to the summit. Even in the dark with just a headlamp the route was obvious, plenty of well done signs and markers. The way out was much quicker, maybe 20 min, if that.
My only warning for the readers is to expect limited cell service in the area. Be prepared for that.
Nice little jaunt though.
