Ascent Trip Report

1hr round trip. Middle Valley Rd from Merritt, good gravel road; R onto Wallace Creek FSR (where GPS track starts). This deteriorates and 2wd may struggle higher up but should get close enough.

Forest road junction ENE of summit is good start point (N50.07888° W120.96356°). Old logging road leads thru regenerated cut block. Steepish forest above then easy open slope to summit ridge, then over a false summit, crossing a partially constructed fence (may be set to remain that way. Highpoint is N side of this fence: outcrop at spot height position (GPS N50.07630° W120.97132°); another outcrop 16m to SW (GPS N50.07618° W120.97142°, 1682m) is equal height according to my hand level. Whole route has some bushwhack and deadfall, avoidable with patience. Hail on way up and a few rain showers but thanks to forest canopy I stay dry. Fun way to finish the day after earlier ascent of Stoyoma.
