Ascent Trip Report

Route as per John Stolk; road S from Highway 8 is initially paved, then good gravel most of way; but we parked 5km before Cabin Lake; our Santa Fe AWD may have got another km but slow going and easier to walk. Hiked road until half km before lake then due N following narrow clearing / creek bed to small tarn, then from its N end a trail winds up thru krummholz and talus onto south ridge then via a few rocky false summits to bouldery cairned highpoint. North summit clearly lower, by hand level, by probably about 5m. Fine wild peak, impressive surroundings, more interesting than expected from map.

4hr round trip, of which about half was road walk, and included a few minutes on top. Stayed dry for us although there were a few rain showers around.
