|Date:||Thursday, August 30, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Washington County High Point|
| Elevation:||1572 ft / 479 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached from the north from I-70, the second exit into Pennsylvania from the West Virginia line.Followed US 40 east for a mile then turned right on PA 231. Lots of twisting, winding and ups and downs. Make your way south to Rocky Run Road. Turn left and head east to Birch Road. Birch Road is a mere dirt lane that looks like someone's driveway. That's the road you want! Take Birch Lane uphill for about a quarter mile. Being that I have a low clearance Prius I decided not to drive all the way up. I parked on the grassy shoulder about half way up the hill and walked the rest of the way. As the road crested I found the gas pipeline and walked an overgrown trail steeply to the summit. Limited views.
