Ascent Trip ReportNice morning outing, quick 2mi firetower hike with Scott. Went past 'Sound Of Thunder' leanto. Firetower in great shape. Excellent views of tatonics, catskills, washburn and neighboring mountains. Was very windy! Well worth the trip, and a gorgeous, large spacious summit excellent for picnicing. The trailmarkers are a bit odd here. There is a very short blue stretch from the TH PA to the register. Then at the register, there is an obvious DEC red disc blazed path continuing straight, but also if you look to the left there is a another DEC red disc blazed trail veering off. I didn't get a chance to explore this other trail to see if it went anywhere, if anyone knows I am rather curious, shoot me an e-mail.
