Ascent Trip ReportAn enjoyable park with a lot of tiny rock pinnacles along the ridge that can be climbed off trail. None are very large, none very technical but it is an urban park so what the heck?
Parked at the main parking lot and then bushwhacked down to the road near the creek/lake then hiked up to the ridge and followed each of the small pinnacles because even easy scrambling is more fun than simply strolling in the woods. I eventually found the highpoint of the north park which is near where the maintenance road ends. More tiny pinnacles of rock. Took mostly a bike trail back but found another small pinnacle that had a more challenging face to climb and then went back to trails and hiked back up. Not a very challenging park and the highpoint on the north side has little prominence but it was overall a pleasant hike/climb near the downtown and something different to explore. |
