Ascent Trip ReportFrom the base of Tupshin we contoured into the basin between Tupshin and Devore, dropped to about 6300' to cross the basin, then found a class 3 route up through the vegetation climbers right of the waterfall that drains Bird Lakes. Bird Lakes is a wonderful place. Standard route on Devore per Summitpost beta, another one and done choss pile of a peak. Rapped the class 4 step on the way back. A single 30m rope is not enough so we double rope rapped with both of our 30's. Botched the descent of Bird Creek and ended up schwacking through alder and endlessly sidehilling across pine needles. Made it back to camp right before headlamp time. Probably should have descended WF Devore Creek!
