Ascent Trip Report

Finally bagged Fayette county, which is right next to Shelby (Memphis) that I have been living in for a year.
I had tried to hit this high point once before but it rained (down poured) on me as I was driving out to it and I decided to skip it at that time.
This was the first of 4 counties done in one day along the southern border of Tennessee.
I left Memphis and drive through Collierville heading east on TN-57 about 24 miles east of 57’s intersection with TN-385. There is a dirt road about .7 miles west of where 57 intersects TN-18. Turn down this and parallel the highway then turn south into the trees. I stopped before the road became too rutted and walked the rest of the way in. The walk is not hard and there is a rough trail but it is very overgrown. I was unable to locate the BM at the top through the thick underbrush and had already attracted a few ticks…might have to revisit this one in the winter…
