Ascent Trip ReportThis is one of the (slightly) trickier to find departmental highpoints in NW France.
First get to the Carrefour (roundabout) de la Croix de Médavy (you know you're there when you see the tank). You get there from Sées via the D908 west then the D26 south. From there take the first exit (if coming from the N), bearing 275 degrees. After 1 and a bit km there is a clearing and a signpost saying Carrefour de la Verrière (which is strangely not a roundabout). Park here and continue on foot.
Now find the forest road leading straight away on a bearing of 235 degrees for a little over 200m. You will see a little worn path on the right hand side, and the typical small (30cm high) trig point. The highpoint is just nearby, choose the highest looking hummock, none overtop the trig by more than 1m. |
