Ascent Trip Report

Besides walking up the long circular concrete ramp to get the view atop Clingman's Dome, I went over the right side at the start of the ramp and about 20' into the brush to stand on what appeared to be the highest natural ground. Geoffrey and I then found where some folks walked west, following their use trail to find an established, well-traveled trail to Mt. Buckley, which, if I'm not confusing this with another bump I took photos at, appeared to be on a small rock outcrop a few feet off the trail to the left. On returning, we found a fork to a trail going down to the parking area (signed as such) with a short last bit of uphill providing some more exercise before a winding drive off the mountain.
