Ascent Trip ReportI parked 5.8 miles past the Honeycomb Rocks Campground on a decent forest road. Getting to the TH for Lost Peak is a beautiful scenic drive. The landscape is really unique with lots of cool rock formations along with views of hills, valleys and mountains. I did not expect it to be so nice.
The hike is very easy, but once one gets past the five or six trees at Lost Peak Spring there isn't any shade for the rest of the hike. My Garmin couldn't get a satellite signal until I was about 3/4 up to the peak, but then it stayed locked on for the summit and descent.
Just like the drive in, I was overwhelmed with the gorgeous views from this rarely visited peak. I'll definitely return to hike this in the winter.
