Ascent Trip Report

Lots of posted land hereabouts, geocaching took me down Mesacosa Rd and a woods road junction which was well beaten and shortly led to another junction where a left might have been the better choice, chose to stay on the topo map road which shortly proved to be too difficult so started my bushwhack up thru mostly open woods, herd path weaving past a series of steep ridge lines to reach the wilderness area boundary (and more postings), to there go up more steep ridge just below an open grassy summit (maybe another waystation along the Underground Railroad when the area near the lakes were farm country), after circling summit area and settling on a high point descended east away from the few high up postings seen, dropping to finally reach another well trod ATV track to an homestead (startling some good sized penned pigs) just off of the paved end of Hunt Lake Rd to finally drop back down across a short piece of old tote road to Mesacosa Rd and my trail head beyond.
