Ascent Trip Report

No need for glacier gear as it's pretty much a snow scramble (crampons, ice axe and helmet). Sunday the Forest Service was on day 6 of 9 doing trail maintenance and trimming back the brush. Trail is snow free until half way across Foam Creek, then only in the gullies and easy to cross w/ approach/trail shoes on. Plenty of water along the way. Flowers are bursting.
Camped at 6500' on a rock island a 100M from a beautiful and delicious glacier tarn. Number of options to camp w/ running water between 6300' - 6700'.
Hadn't been below freezing for several days, so the snow wasn't hard in the AM and mashed potatoes in the afternoon. Start early. Route is pretty much a path winding between a couple small and clearly visible crevasses. *No need for glacier gear* and up the ridges.
Here's a link to my track where we also bagged kololo -
