US County High Point Links

Steve Walstra has self-identified as interested in climbing to the high points of counties in the United States.

The original passion was visiting all the parks in the greater National Park system--it was a fun way to visit remote locations all over the US. Coincidentally hiked Mt. Whitney in 2002 and then went on a trip a few weeks later which involved Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The highest point in that park happens to be the highest point in Texas. Picked off the highest point in Oklahoma before the trip was over and subsequently started seeking out State HPs. Later started doing California county HPs. . .and eventually started hiking any county highpoints nearby anywhere I happened to travel. Physically difficult hikes, logistically challenging hikes, and questionably accessible hikes are equally entertaining.
