Ascent Trip Report

Josh and I started from the Peters Creek Trail head. We jogged out to mile 7 and then were forced to slow to hiking speed for another 4 miles of very muddy trail totaling 11 miles before we left the Peters Creek trail. We then bush whacked our way up the ridge that is a small valley just to the west of the peak. Once we reached the top of the ridge it was a short and relatively easy hike southeast to the summit proper. We left a new FILGO summit register and then returned via the same route and again jogged out the last 6 miles. Car-to-car time was 11 hours and 28 miles.

It was very windy, sustained winds at 45mph with gusts up to 77mph according to the Arctic Valley weather station which is located 12 miles south west.
