Ascent Trip ReportEmmons Glacier route via White River Campground and Inter Glacier. Day one hike to inter glacier and camp, day two move up to Emmons Flat, day three climb, and day 4 hike out. Weather was wonderful other than climb day, when it rained down low, and snowed up high. Lots of deep slushy snow, and not much need for crampons until 11k feet or so, although we wore them pretty much anytime above Schurman for safety. Big crevasses opening up all over the route. Thanks to Michael Wanberg who did a great job of getting all the nuts and bolts of the trip figured out, and provided all the logistics and permitting. |
