Ascent Trip Report

A banzai! trip from Pasco on this three day weekend. Left saturday morning and arrived at Timber Creek Campground late afternoon. Set up camp and walked up to the trailhead where we encountered fellow peakbagger James Morehouse who was out for a walk after bagging North Schell earlier in the day. Lots of rain and thunderstorms Saturday evening, but completely cleared up by Sunday morning. The next morning Kelsey and I had a nice hike up the canyon and easy summit tag, then on descent met another Peakbagger Scott Kruis from Corvallis. Surprised to meet two peakbaggers from separate states on such a remote peak!

We also ran into the same sheepdog that Kathy described in her post. It came towards us barking as we got back to the trailhead. I waved a trekking pole at it and picked up a big branch with my free hand. He growled and kind of sauntered away, but I made sure not to turn my back on him.

Anyway, this a beautiful area, Big Timber Creek is very nice, especially during and after a rainstorm.
