Ascent Trip Report

My first attempt and summit of Mt. St. Helens. It was a nasty, rainy, windy day, and according to the climbers log book was one of only 9 successful summits that day. In fact, a lady was caught in the storm at the summit not long after I attained the crater rim, who was tuck for the night on Monitor Ridge and had to wait until the next morning to make it down! My climbing partner decided to stop at the weather station at approx 7,000 ft, and I rejoined her near the bottom of the Monitor Ridge Route. Not an optimal first trip, but successful summit attained!
