Mount Tom offers a 360 degree panorama of New Milford and surrounding towns. There are two ways to the summit. First trailhead and parking (3-4 cars) is near the end of Mt. Tom road. The orange trail in conjunction with the white trail offers a loop. The white trail on its way to the top has fantastic side views. The other end of the white trail loop can reached by continuing on beyond the first to a second orange/white trail junction. Second, one can start at the Pratt Center gaining access to trail maps and the Center. The other end of the white trail is longer, steeper, and has a total elevation change of 700 feet as opposed to 400 feet. (From Geocaching Cache GC103MK “Not that Mount Tom, This Mount Tom”).
