One trail of moderate difficulty leading to Mount Tom starts at Faulkner Park (located on Mountain Ave. behind covered bridge) in Woodstock VT. A Geocache is located at the top of the south peak of Mt. Tom. The trail is a tad more difficult near the top so one may have to be careful with children. An easier path up makes it possible to bring up horses, strollers, etc. (found west of Woodstock off of Rte 4, a right turn just after Woodstock Farmer’s Market to wood road trailhead). (Geocaching, "Mt. Tom South" Geocache GC1Z5E7). Once up on the summit itself most of the village is laid out.
