This peak is one of the most recognizable mountains in the Front Ranges, sitting at the end of a long, gradually sloping valley. Its south aspect is a dramatic limestone face, but the other sides reveal gentler approaches. Mt. Fable is connected to Gap Peak via a long ridge, with a prominent col at around 2550 meters. The scrambling route ascends the col, from the south-facing slopes.
