Hello, My name Is Matt Bablitch, I live just outside of Yosemite National Park and am an avid hiker and quickly becoming a peak bagger. My first Peak was in 2003. Gale Peak in the Southern Chain Lakes region of the Park. Elevation was 10,693 Feet and the scrambling ascent and decent Kicked my butt. Three years later I would summit Mt Hoffman (10,850') Three times. It is now 2009, I am now 35 and this summer has started off with a persistant desire to hike and summit peaks. I have bagged 3 peaks this year and am planning on more. I grew up in Wisconsin and spent much time outdoors as a kid and was lucky enough to have a couple of great State Parks to hike in. Kohler Andre on the shore of Lake Michigan is home to huge freshwater lake sand Dunes and a Cordwalk which is able to move with the sand. Kettle Moraine State Forest is also a spectaular place due to glacially shaped landscapes. Kettles and Moraines served as a midwest Mini mountain range and provided opportunities to hike tougher terrain than typical Wisconsin landscapes. After visiting Northern California and Yosemite my wife and I knew we had to make a move. Living near Yosemite is Incredible! I am just starting to take a real interest in bagging peaks and I am stoked to have this web site to log all of my summits.
