I am preparing for a 30-day trek in Norway two years from now on the pilgrimage trail to Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim. I need to get in shape, and feel disappointed that I haven't taken advantage of the beautiful Utah mountains in a few years. So I just got some cold-weather gear and I'll be doing a little bit of hiking/climbing every week.

I maintain a website for Utah rockhounds. It contains a free downloadable guide for Google Earth that shows hundreds of collecting locations. If you're interested in the site or my rockhounding blog, feel free to visit I'm excited to start writing about my climbing and hiking trips in the blog as well.
